Ancient Olympia

The weekend of May 31st we set out for a drive through the Peloponnesian Mountains to Ancient Olympia. Ancient Olympia is the home of the original Olympic games and was the location of the Temple of Zeus (one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world).

On our way back to Athens through the Peloponnesian Mountains we stopped to take a picture of the mountain side town of Langadia. As we were taking this picture a very nice old man invited us into his wood working workshop to show us his art as well as all the pictures and postcards from other American tourists that he had met over the years.
