Provenchers visit Greece

Mom and Dad Provencher arrived on Saturday August 2nd for their two week vacation. While in Athens the four of us visited Ancient Delphi and Arachova (2-3 hour drive from Athens) as well as Lykavittos Hill (the highest point in Athens). During the week while we were still working Mom and Dad visited the island of Milos for some sun, sand, Greek tavernas and wind! On their return to Athens they took the happy train up to the Acropolis. On Sunday August 10th we packed our bags and the four of us headed for France.

After a long flight we showed Mom and Dad around the neighborhood and decided to stop at a cafe in the park near our apartment for some caffeine rich frappes.

The Sunday after they arrived the four of us took a road trip to Ancient Delphi. Here's the view from half way up the mountain of Ancient Delphi below.

We hiked up the entire mountain in the 100 degree weather to see the ancient stadium. Although we were tired the view was well worth the hike.

Mom and Meredith happy to have made it all the way up the mountain to the ancient stadium

The Tholos besides the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia. According to historians, this is where the famous Oracle was located. Ancient Greeks would travel for days to come and visit the Oracle for advice.
