Panos and Eva (our landlords) invited us to visit them at their home on Ios. We headed out for the weekend of August 29-31 for a relaxing couple of days of sun and seafood. Friday night they picked us up at the port and took us to dinner at their favorite taverna for some fresh calamari, octopus, and shrimp followed by a few drinks in "the Village". Saturday we had a lazy morning with an amazing breakfast of fresh baked breads, local cheeses and chocolate cakes that Eva made that morning.

This is the cove that Panos and Eva live in. Their house is the one slightly to the left of the center of the picture, half way up the hill.

Saturday night, Eva taught Meredith how to make Octopus Pasta with the fresh octopus that Nicos (their son) had caught the day before.

Believe it or not, octopus has become one of our favorite seafoods since coming to Greece. Now we finally know how to make it for ourselves!

Nicos and his girlfriend on Panos' boat after we went for a ride and Nicos went spear fishing.

We ate all of our meals at Panos and Eva's home in the back yard under their huge palm tree.
