We've moved in

We moved into our flat in Nea Psyhiko on Friday (11/2). It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom fully furnished apartment complete with air conditioning and a patio in the back yard. We even have a lemon tree growing next to the patio!

On Saturday we made our first trip to the grocery store. It took us 2 hours and 2 shopping carts full of stuff but we were able to figure it out. We live close enough to the supermarket that we pushed our shopping carts right up to our front porch. After stocking up on food we drove out to IKEA to buy some small items for the apartment like trash cans and towel racks. It has been very nice this week to come home to our own place and cook our own dinners. Last night we had Greek bean soup... it was pretty good.

We don't currently have a phone or internet but we hope to have both up and running in the next week or so. Once the internet is hooked up we'll be able to use our US phone number again and we'll post some pictures of the flat on the blog.

We are both currently working long hours but hopefully this is a temporary situation. Next week we're going to a Greek concert with a Deloitte colleague and hopefully next weekend we will take a trip out of Athens. We aren't quite sure where we're going but you can be assured that we will post some pictures and share the details on the blog.

Is Greek been soup the kind that is made of Greeks that have been to the grocery store?

We want you to have a phone. MG phone home, MG phone home...

We are continuing the search for cheap fares - if we ship ourselves cargo can you bring oxygen to the airport??

Miss you guys bunches. Gretta says "woof", Bryce says "b-b-bb-brrr", and the cat doesn't give a damn.
