This is our beach, Platys Gialos, which was lined with cafes and restaurants. We had a great seafood dinner of lobster pasta, steamed mussels and seafood risotto.
Luckily, there were also water sports at the beach so Meredith went skiing for the first time since our honeymoon. Thanks Mom and Dad for the birthday present!
Friday and Saturday nights we went into Mykonos town to walk around and have dinner. We walked through little Venice and by the famous windmills.

One of the nights walking through town we even got to see Petros the Pelican who is the mascot of Mykonos.

We took Dad out for his 60th birthday to a little restaurant in the harbor, overlooking the sea called Camares. We had a very nice meal to celebrate. After dinner we went for drinks at the Veranda Club which overlooks Little Venice.

Also on Dad's 60th birthday, we decided to rent ATVs to drive around the island and visit some of the beaches and towns we hadn't seen. Here are Meredith, Mom and Dad on their ATVs.

While driving around the island on our ATVs, we stopped in the town of Ano Mera (the only town in the center of the island) for lunch. We saw the monastery Panagia i Tourliani and fresh octopus hanging out to dry in the sun at the local taverna.

After our weekend in Mykonos, Mom and Dad headed off for a romantic couple of days in Santorini. They stayed on the Caldera with a balcony on the cliff to enjoy the beautiful sunset.

Dad's 60th birthday present from all of his kids and grandson was a cruise tour of the volcano. The cruise included exploring the volcano, swimming in the hot springs, appetizers and live music as the classic schooner sailed through the caldera at sunset.
