Symi

After a few days in Rhodes, we headed off on a short ferry ride to the tiny island of Symi. There is only one real village which is also the harbor. The houses line the sides of the hills and make for a beautiful entrance to the island. It is the most beautiful harbor we've seen in Greece and we fell in love with the island.

Monday, we arrived in town in time to enjoy a few hours of sun at the small beach by our hotel before getting cleaned up for dinner on the water.

Mom and Dad enjoyed their Mai Tais and Dad enjoyed his Cuban Cigar while Rich and Meredith played paparazzi from the hotel balcony. Once again, our hotel was right on the water front!

On Tuesday, we took a boat trip around part of the island. We had a great time soaking up the sun, swimming in the crystal clear waters and eating a bbq lunch on one of the beaches.

One of the places we stopped to swim had a cave that we could swim into and explore. The water was so clear that you felt like you could just stand up even though the water was 15 ft deep.

This is our hotel (the orange building with blue balcony).

Mom even woke up at 5am one morning to catch the sunrise from our balcony. We aren't sure her eyes were completely open or that she stayed awake for more than the minute it took to get out of bed and snap a few pictures but we were shocked just the same! While Mom was getting up early for sunrises, Dad was sleeping in later than we've ever seen.

After a few relaxing days on Symi, we were back to Rhodes for a day before heading to Mykonos...
