Softball in Patra

Last Sunday, Meredith headed to Patra with her softball team to play in a 1 day mini tournament with 3 other teams from Greece. We headed out of Athens at 5:30 in the morning for the 3.5 hour drive to the north coast of the Peleponnese. The team is made up of girls ranging in age from 12 to 48 so the skill level also ranges depending on who is playing but we all have a lot of fun regardless.

It was a little bit surprising to pull up to the field and see that it was actually a dirt/stone soccer field. We have a really nice field that we play on in Athens so our team is spoiled compared to most.

While the field was questionable, the location couldn't have been better. We were literally on the water with half of the field built out over the sea.

Our Greek American coach, Chris Robinson and Meredith talking before going up to bat.

Meredith with some of the girls... Eleni Vlastou, Meredith, Alex Kounoupidi, Fotini Le and Penni Diamond.

The tournament got cut short for rain and darkness but we had a great time.
