Bazoukia

Meredith's friend Sarah arrived on Wed (June 10) to stay with us for a week. After a few days downtown, an outdoor movie and a few Greek dinners she headed to Hydra for a day while we picked Chris up at the airport. With both Sarah and Chris in town, we decided it was time for a big night out at the Bazoukia. A Bazoukia is a very typical Greek nightclub with a live performance and drinks where you throw flowers at the performers to show how much you love the show.

Meredith and Sarah at Theo. Even though we weren't close enough to throw flowers on the stage, we bought a tray to throw at each other. You can see some in the bottom corner of the picture.

One of the main performers. The "pre-show" started around 11pm with a group of 10 or 12 different singers who sang a mix of Greek music and American 80s pop music. Then around 1am, the main performance started with the second main act going on around 3:45am. Since the main acts only sang Greek music, we only made it through the first couple of songs of the second performer before heading home around 4am!

We reserved a table with several of our friends...Chris, Rich, Meredith, Sarah, Daiva, Kosta and Yannis.
